Summer AmeriCorps Position

Looking to make a difference by enhancing water quality programs?  James River Basin Partnership (JRBP) has partnered with Stream Teams United to host a Summer Associate AmeriCorps member for Summer 2023!  This person will help with water education programs and the Lawn Steward soil testing program.  

Member Duties : The Summer Associate serving at the James River Basin Partnership will assist the Education Outreach Coordinator with summer education programs for youth, helping to teach water science activities to the next generation of water stewards. The Education Outreach Coordinator will train the Summer Associate in water science activities and then the Associate will help teach youth during summer classes and at outreach programs at community events and other off-site locations. In addition, the Summer Associate will assist with the soil sampling program by helping collect soil samples from residential yards and helping to interpret soil test results and write nutrient management plans for properties. The Summer Associate will help target education and environmental stewardship programs towards low-income youth and properties within the service area.
