Headwaters to Horizons: Exploring Aquatic Careers

Join us April 16th between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM for a come-and-go event to learn about careers in the aquatic resources world, networking with government agencies, not-profit organizations, and private industry.

Activities will include water quality monitoring, macroinvertebrate ID, fish sampling and ID, native plants, and more!

If the event is cancelled due to rain, the alternative date will be April 20th.

Note: Missouri Smallflows Organization will be offsite at the Onsite Wastewater Demonstration Site, north of the Watershed Center, next to the Springfield Equestrian Center (4007 N Farm Rd 171, Springfield, MO 65803).
Learn about onsite wastewater treatment systems (septic systems) at the onsite wastewater demonstration site. This site showcases different technologies for wastewater treatment. Becoming a worker in this industry opens many doors in heavy equipment operation, working outdoors, working with your hands, problem-solving, and protecting public health! Come for a tour of the demonstration site and visit with professionals about working in wastewater treatment. Tours will be starting at 1:15 PM and commence every hour, with the last one at 5:15 PM.
