THE DETAILS

**VOLUNTEERS & VOLUNTEER GROUPS NEEDED**
Celebrate Earth Day by making an impact on our beloved James River and Lake Springfield!
At this annual memorial clean-up to remember our dedicated JRBP volunteer and Ozark river enthusiast, Joe Kleiber, we will be focusing on cleaning up: 

  1. Shoreline clean-up at Southwood Access
  2. Shoreline clean-up at Springfield Lake Clay Henshaw Memorial Access (fishing peirs) and  Tailwaters Access 
  3. 4.75 mile section of the James River from Crighton Access to Southwood Access - *For experienced floaters only, age 18+ - due to low water temperatures and debris

CHECK-IN 

Check-in begins at 1:00pm at the Southwood Access for ALL participants.

After a safety talk, and distribution of bags and gloves, participants will be either:

  1. Begin shoreline clean-up at Southwood Access
  2. Or will be asked to drive a few miles up the road to begin a shoreline clean-up at Springfield Lake Clay Henshaw Memorial Access (fishing piers) and Tailwaters Access  
  3. Shuttled to the Crighton Access  to start their float

Ready to get out and help on Earth Day?
All ages welcome! Come as an individual, a dynamic duo, or a group. We will have gloves and bags ready for you.

INTERESTED IN FLOATING?

Are you an experienced floater?
Due to low water temperatures and debris, the Crighton to Southwood Access float is reserved for experienced paddlers only, age 18+.


Do you have your own boat?
If so, you can drop off your boat at the Crighton Access  by 12:30pm, and then proceed to the Southwood Access for check-in at 1:00pm. After a safety talk, and distribution of bags and gloves, participants will be shuttled back to Crighton Access

Don't have a boat?
JRBP canoes are available for the Earth Day clean-up on a first-come, first-reserve basis. This year's canoes have all been reserved for Earth Day 2018.

If you have already reserved your JRBP canoe, you will meet at Southwood Access for check-in at 1:00pm.
